Christmas Light Display
After 35 years of displaying Al Copeland's lights at his Metairie home, the Copeland Family would like to invite the community to join them as they unveil the late Al Copeland's Christmas display at Lafreniere Park. This Display will join the traditional Lafrenire Park display and will officially open on Friday, December 4 at 5:30 p.m. and will run from December 4 thru January 6 from dusk until 9:30 pm.

Uncle Sam Jam

Food, Music, and Fireworks
The annual "Uncle Sam Jam" is July 3 at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., Metairie.
There will be food and refreshments as well as live music. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Ghost Town will perform, and from 7 to 9 p.m. the New Orleans Concert Band will perform.
Marrero resident Karen Bradshaw, co-writer of "She's a Prisoner of War," will sing the song with Mississippi singer Amanda Duff. Bradshaw's husband, James Ray "Jim" Bradshaw, who served in the U.S. Navy during the Gulf War, died Memorial Day weekend eight years ago.
Bradshaw co-wrote the song with Duff.
Radio Disney will also be on hand to provide entertainment for children.
There will be a fireworks display beginning at 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Football Training Camp
The purpose of the Become a Saint camp is to teach the campers how to develop their spiritual life through football. This objective is two-fold. It is to teach the campers how to develop their inner character and to teach the basic skills of Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Running Backs, and Tight Ends.
This camp is for students in the 6th - 8th grade. All campers must register by April 30, 2009. NO EXCEPTIONS.
